Ohio First Lady DeWine Joins Columbus Metropolitan Library Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Ohio First Lady Fran DeWine participated in a ribbon cutting for Columbus Metropolitan Library’s newest branch in the Hilltop community.

“Mike and I are firm believers in the power of reading,” said First Lady Fran DeWine. “We are lifelong supporters of Ohio’s public libraries, and understand how valuable libraries are in each community.”

Mrs. DeWine promoted the Ohio Governor’s Imagination Library, and highlighted the continued partnership with the Columbus Metropolitan Library.  Caregivers can enroll their kids in the Imagination Library while visiting any branch of the Columbus Metropolitan Library.

The Ohio Governor’s Imagination Library is a program that mails kids one book each month until their 5th birthday. All kids in Ohio are eligible and this program is available at no cost to families.

Caregivers can enroll any child under the age of 5 at OhioImaginationLibrary.org.

As of September 2021, 40% of eligible kids statewide are enrolled in the Ohio Governor’s Imagination Library. More than 290,543 kids were mailed an age-appropriate book at no cost to their family this month!
