Ohio First Lady DeWine Highlights the Imagination Library’s Newest Affiliate—Toledo Lucas County Public Library

Ohio First Lady Fran DeWine spoke with several Toledo media outlets to highlight the Ohio Governor’s Imagination Library’s newest affiliate for Lucas County—the Toledo Lucas County Public Library.

“We are deeply appreciative of the Toledo Lucas County Public Library for joining our strong coalition of affiliates statewide, who help to ensure this program remains free for all families in Ohio,” said First Lady Fran DeWine.

Affiliates are responsible for 50% of the cost of Imagination Library books in their assigned county. Currently, the Ohio Governor’s Imagination Library has 69 affiliates, who each work to increase awareness of the program, and overall enrollment of kids within the assigned county.

Mrs. DeWine was joined by Jason Kucsma, Director of the Toledo Lucas County Public Library. He spoke about the library’s partnership, and how he hopes to continue expanding enrollment throughout the greater Toledo area.

The Ohio Governor’s Imagination Library is a program that mails kids one book each month until their 5th birthday. All kids in Ohio are eligible and this program is available at no cost to families.

Caregivers can enroll any child under the age of 5 at OhioImaginationLibrary.org.

As of October 2021, 41% of eligible kids statewide are enrolled in the Ohio Governor’s Imagination Library. More than 292,608 kids were mailed an age-appropriate book at no cost to their family this month!
