First Lady DeWine Visits Van Buren Acres, Thanks Staff for Supporting the Ohio Governor’s Imagination Library

Ohio First Lady Fran DeWine visited Van Buren Acres to thank staff for promoting the Ohio Governor’s Imagination Library this fall.

Van Buren Acres is a family-owned farm that offers many fall activities, including hayrides, a petting zoo, games, and a corn maze. This year, the corn maze resembled Dolly Parton, who founded Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. The Ohio Governor’s Imagination Library is in partnership with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, and is currently available to any child from birth to age 5 in Ohio.

Van Buren Acres also hung up Ohio Governor’s Imagination Library flyers across the farm, as well as directions for how caregivers can enroll their kids in the program.

The Ohio Governor’s Imagination Library is a program that mails kids one book each month until their 5th birthday. All kids in Ohio are eligible and this program is available at no cost to families.

Caregivers can enroll any child under the age of 5 at OhioImaginationLibrary.org.

As of October 2021, 41% of eligible kids statewide are enrolled in the Ohio Governor’s Imagination Library. More than 292,608 kids were mailed an age-appropriate book at no cost to their family this month!
