First Lady DeWine Celebrates Over 300,000 Kids Enrolled in the Imagination Library

Ohio First Lady Fran DeWine celebrated over 300,000 kids enrolled in the program in the Ohio Governor’s Imagination Library. Mrs. DeWine spent several days traveling the state to celebrate this milestone where she hosted three press conferences, seven book readings, and visited two birthing hospitals.

“More Ohio children are receiving the Imagination Library books from Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library program than in any other state,” said First Lady Fran DeWine. “We’re grateful to all of our affiliates and partners around the state who have made this milestone possible.”

Additionally, Mrs. DeWine visited Kettering Health Hamilton Hospital and TriHealth Good Samaritan Hospital to thank staff who are helping caregivers enroll newborns in Ohio Governor’s Imagination Library. Nurses at both Kettering Health Hamilton and TriHealth Good Samaritan are informing caregivers about the Imagination Library and helping many to enroll their newborns in the program before leaving the hospital.

When a newborn is enrolled in the Imagination Library, they will receive the full 60 books offered.

The Ohio Governor’s Imagination Library is a program that mails kids one book each month until their 5th birthday. All kids in Ohio are eligible and this program is available at no cost to families.

Caregivers can enroll any child under the age of 5 at OhioImaginationLibrary.org.

As of December 2021, 43% of eligible kids statewide are enrolled in the Ohio Governor’s Imagination Library. More than 301,457 kids were mailed an age-appropriate book at no cost to their family!
