Ohio's First Lady Delivers Welcome Message to Live Healthy Appalachia

Nov 15

Ohio’s First Lady couldn’t visit Athens in person to address the Live Healthy Appalachia Fall Meeting, so she sent a personal video message to the group expressing her appreciation for their hard work and dedication to wellness in southeastern Ohio.  Live Healthy Appalachia is a non-profit community organization with a mission of improving the health and well-being of individuals in Appalachia by educating and inspiring members of the community to take charge of their health.

Mrs. Kasich applauded their efforts in a brief welcome speech. “You are helping children and families make positive changes that can not only alter the course of their lives, but impact future generations of Ohioans as well,” she said. “With your continued educational efforts in the classrooms with Food is Elementary, as well as promoting physical activity with the “Walk Around Ohio” competition, I am confident you will make a significant difference in Appalachian wellness.”

The First Lady is planning a classroom visit to Athens County where she can personally observe the Food is Elementary nutrition and cooking education program.
